Our Finca in Alaró, Mallorca

Our finca is located in a valley, just outside the village of Alaró, at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains.
It comprises 3.2 hectares of land with old trees, traditional Mallorquin stone walls and about 900 sqm of built-up area, consisting of a main house and some other buildings. The house was last inhabited more than 60 years ago and is still in its original state in many parts. We immediately fell in love with the old walls, the hidden courtyard and the magical orange garden, bordered on one side by a grand old aljibe (water deposit).

And now what happens to this very charming piece of land? Over the next few years we will build up a small regenerative farm, where we will live and work.

We will respectfully renovate and conserve the main building, the outbuildings and an impressive, traditional olive press. We will create an ecosystem with functioning cycles on our finca, that will enable us to produce a wonderful variety of biodiverse, quality food & wine in a sustainable way; in stark contrast to the methods of conventional agriculture.
We have already built up a 2500 sqm vegetable garden, in the spirit of permaculture. Here, we grow vegetables and fruits for the kitchen of Giuliano & Aimee and our SOLU harvest bags.
In the upcoming weeks we will plant an area for agroforestry, with hundreds of fruit trees, trees and shrubs. We are thrilled that soon we will also be establishing a terroir sensible and drought tolerant vineyard with over 2500 vines.
With all this in mind, we have already adopted 5 bee colonies and a flock of 7 ducks, 4 chickens, 2 guinea fowls and 3 geese, to help us make this big idea a reality.
